Project: Doctor Who: The Fan Show
Agency: BBC Studios
Year: 2015-2018
Original YouTube format & social content
Doctor Who: The Fan Show was a weekly YouTube series created by BBC Studios to celebrate fans around the globe and drive online conversation about Doctor Who after episodes air on TV.
In 2015, I was headhunted by the BBC due to my YouTube videos (as part of FiveWhoFans). I took on the role of Host and Researcher, which involved work both on-camera and behind-the-scenes. My responsibilities included presenting, scriptwriting, developing concepts, sourcing contributors, editing episodes and creating clips for social media.
The Fan Show became a live aftershow in 2017, with special guests and an audience in the hundreds of thousands.
During my time at the BBC, I was also involved in hosting several live events including a Q&A with Steven Moffat for BBC One, a promotional event with Russell T Davies for BBC Books, and a panel at Doctor Who conference Gallifrey One in Los Angeles to an audience of around 3000 people.
